Preventing Dropout in Counseling and Pastoral Care

March 11, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Learn how to support struggling individuals in staying engaged and motivated through counseling and pastoral care to prevent dropout.

Workshop Description

When counseling ends too early, people don’t get the help they need. People in helping roles are anxious to avoid giving people any reason not to complete the process. Although it’s not always possible to know why particular people drop out, there are common trends and best practices to help people complete the process. This seminar will survey these trends and provide practical helps for preserving a collaborative relationship throughout the counseling process. We’ll invite applications for a variety of care contexts and for pastoral, lay, and professional counselors.
