
Ellen Oosterhuis
Biblical Counselor, Psychologist
Ellen was born and raised in The Netherlands where she got a Master Degrees in Mental Health Science and Psychology in 2000. After working as a psychologist in a christian mental health center for 5 years, she relocated to Houston, Texas in 2005 for her husband’s work. While in the US, she got involved with the ministry of CCEF, which led her to follow the online program for Biblical Counseling which she completed in 2013. In the meantime, Ellen had relocated to Singapore where she was actively involved in the ministry of an international church, providing small group leadership and counseling to parishioners.
After relocating back to The Netherlands in 2016 she started her own Christian counseling organization which she runs with one other colleague. Besides the people she counsels on a professional basis, she is involved as a counseling assistant to the Pastor and elders of her local church. Right now, she is in the process of getting her Master’s Degree in Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary.
Ellen longs to share God’s heart with others by walking with them through their pain and suffering to let God’s light shine amid our troubles and search for the hope that only He can bring.
Ellen is married to Jan Wolter and mother to 4 teenage and young adult children, she loves reading, spending time outdoors with family and friends and she is passionate about up-cycling used materials by creating treasures from trash.
