Todd graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. He is an ordained minister and has worked in both secular and Christian counseling settings, and his experience includes inner-city ministry, treatment foster care, prison counseling, anger management counseling, substance abuse, and family counseling. He was ordained in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Todd is an avid bird-watcher and C.S. Lewis fan, and he loves to discuss science, philosophy, and National Parks. He and his wife have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law who are active in youth ministry, music, and missions.
