“It’s Ok Not to Be Ok”
“It is OK to not be OK. It’s OK to seek out help from counselors. . . . Know that seeking out these options doesn’t make you less of a Christian or less of a person. Our identity is in the Lord.”
Wise words from a Virginia Tech student profiled in the Roanoke Times (see link here).
If we stop to consider, it’s inconsistent for us as Christians to believe on the one hand that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23) and then on the other hand to be surprised that we struggle, or surprised that those around us struggle. God have mercy to give us the humility to know when we need help–because indeed we all need it. We need friends, family, pastors, doctors, and many more.
Help doesn’t always mean counseling, but sometimes it does. We’d love to help if this is you.
